Wine cellar insulation

Jon_Lawrence | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

Trying to finish up the wine cellar project using some leftover materials and I want to make sure I have my control layers correct here.  The wine cellar has 2 concrete walls, 1 stud wall and 1 wall that is concrete for the first 3 feet and then a stud wall above that – this is the wall in the attached picture.  All of the concrete walls sections are covered with 2 1/2″ InsoFast EPS panels. In the picture you will see a strip of polyiso above the EPS.  I ran out the EPS and had plenty of roofing polyiso left over, so decided to cover that last section of concrete with the polyiso.  The stud wall above is inset slightly so the from the face of the stud to the face of the EPS below is 3 1/2″ – just enough to fit a layer of 2″ polyiso and 2×3 furring strips and be flush with the EPS.  I added the Majrex as my air and vapor control layer.  I believe I could just rely on the taped polyiso for air and vapor control, but it is a bit beat up from sitting around the job site for so long and I had extra Majrex.  I figured I would put the vapor closed side of the Majrex facing the wine cellar because I want to keep the vapor in there.  All of the walls will be finished with 5/8″ mold resistant drywall and mold resistant paint.  I may eventually cover the drywall with paneling – I have used cypress before with good results. The stud bays will be insulated with DP cellulose and whatever netting my insulation sub uses.  The ceiling is 11 7/8″ TJI’s with Majrex on the wine cellar side and 3/4″ AdvanTech on the subfloor above.  The joist bays will be insulated with DP cellulose.

Does anyone see any issues with my proposed layout?

Thanks.
