Windows – Side Load vs Tilt

nlbailey | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I am looking at windows and see that there are options for side or tilt load for single hung windows. I’m wondering if there is any performance advantage to one over the other. I’ve had tilt load windows in the past and was less than please with them but curious if the fit of a side load would be looser since it is not “locked” in at top and base.

Anyone have experience with these options?
