Window flashing
I’m trying to figure out best method to flash my outie windows in my new build.
The build is 2×4 frame, 1/2″ sheathing, with 6″ exterior foam, house wrap, furring strips, then vinyl siding.
I have built out the window box with 2x lumber so its on the same plane as the furring strips. (the foam is not installed yet)
I am trying to figure out how the house wrap integrates into the window opening, and do I build the sill pan first or over top of the house wrap?
I have looked at a few examples but they don’t seem show the house wrap.
I was going to use ZIP stretch tape over a bevel board for the pan.
Also how far back should the bevel siding go?, just depth of window or further back?
Thanks for any input

Dave,
You're going to be flashing your window rough opening so that the rough opening sheds water to the exterior. If you are installing housewrap on the exterior side of the rigid foam, the housewrap usually laps the flashing you have installed at the head of the rough opening. The sill pan flashing that you have installed at the rough sill should lap over the housewrap. At the jambs, the housewrap is usually taped to the rough opening flashing, although this tape is optional.
For more detailed information, see this article: "Installing Windows In a Foam-Sheathed Wall."
So it sounds like the exterior foam should be installed first, so the house wrap can be laped over the head flashing and taped inside the jambs, and installed under the sill pan flashing or at least the under the outeredge of the 2x materials.
Thanks

Thanks Martin
I have read the article, the windows are outie style, so house wrap on outside of the exterior insulation. , Correct...
I assume regular Tyvek is fine for this application?
