Unfaced batt insulation
I am a builder in South Carolina. I use typar house wrap and I have stopped using batt insulation on exterior walls. My question is, is this good practice?
An architect that I have worked with over the years said that the glue that bonds the craft paper to the fiberglass acts as a vapor barrier and that it is optimal to use unfaced fiberglass batting, as you are using a good house wrap on the outside and correct humidity controls with the HVAC.
