We’ve recently remodeled a 2 story farm house in central illinois, we had 2 inch closed cell sprayed in the exterior walls and 20 inches of cellulose blown in the attic. My question is can I put 1 inch foam board on the exterior of my home? We will be re-siding within a next year or two. The winds in the wide open country are brutal in the winter time, will the sandwiching the 3/4 tongue and groove between 2 inch closed cell and 1 inch foam board cause issues. If so what else can I do to provide more thermal break and better air sealing from the exterior.
