Sound isolation / minimization
Hello – We are trying to minimize sound across one shared wall in the room.
Has anyone done sound proofing of walls around a room to minimize chatter going across the room through studs? What method worked the best for you?

Also worth checking out how folks build media/theater rooms. Here's a huge thread on the subject on AVSForum site (the first post has links to some good reference material): https://www.avsforum.com/threads/soundproofing-master-thread.1509173/
The best thing you can do is to "decouple" the drywall from the studs, or one side of the wall from the other. Resilient channel is one way, converting the wall over to be a standard stud wall is another. A double layer of 5/8" type X drywall on at least one side of the room helps too. I like the staggered studwall approach, since it avoids any of the issues of hanging drywall on channel, and it's very effective.
You need to make sure to avoid any "sneak paths" for sound too. Make sure things like wall outlets on the two sides of the wall aren't in the same studbay, for example. It's amazing how much sound can get through little holes and gaps.

You can do a double stud wall, staggered stud wall, double layer of drywall, roxul safe n sound insulation, or decouple the drywall with this little orange rubber circle that i don't know the name of but have seen on Build Show Network. I think there is also acoustic caulk you can use
