Rigid Foam Insulation in Basement

I am in process (still) of adding 2″ rigid foam in my basement. I am doing my rim joists now. When I move on to my walls, I don’t really want to use an type of mechanical fastener, just the adhesive. I am doing this by myself on nights and weekends, but sometimes I can’t get back to working on it for several weeks. As such, I’m not sure when I will actually start framing. Will the rigid stay in place until I can get it framed, even if that is a year from now?
Thanks in advance!
