Repair Core on Panasonic Whisper Comfort ERV FV-04VE1?
I’ve got two Panasonic Whisper Comfort ERV FV-04VE1’s, which I service every 3 months, removing the core to vacuum it, and washing both filters.
Recently, the core came apart – the black portion with the handles you use to remove it, along with the spindles, detached from the white plastic core pieces, leaving them inside the ERV. I was able to reach in and remove the white plastic core in one piece by nudging it out with my fingers. Now my core is in 2 pieces. It sort of looks like the black piece may just have been attached to the core with a bit of glue, or maybe the spindles were glued?
Has this happened to anyone else, and/or does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to repair this? Contact cement, Gorilla glue, other?
In addition, does anyone here have one of these Panasonic ERV’s that bit the dust and wants to sell a used core? I can get a new OEM but they want $170 for it…seems kind of steep…
I’ve attached photos in case that is helpful.

Bump. Anyone?
Looks like a manufacturing defect. I would check how well crazy glue adheres to the plastic and if it sticks use that to glue it back together. Might need a bit of hot melt to seal up the cap to the core. If crazy glue doesn't work, I've had very good luck with E6000 jewelry adhesive with plastic.
Contact cement doesn't tend to work on these types of surfaces, polyurethane glues don't tend to stick too well to plastic.
