Plan Examiners Where You Are

MALCOLM TAYLOR | Posted in General Questions on

We seem to have a constant stream of questions on GBA about how to vent newly constructed roofs, and how to insulate both them and new walls. I’m curious as to how that happens?

Here, to get your drawings approved for construction, you need to provide at least outline building assemblies, which include the type, location and R-value of the insulation, as well as sections showing how the roofs work. Is this not typical elsewhere? How are houses getting framed without these things being resolved?
