Philadelphia I-95 Repair with Foamed Glass Aggregate
For those who have seen a bit about the catastrophic I-95 collapse near Philadelphia, I found it interesting that the temporary repair consists of some retaining walls brought up to grade of the existing raised roadway and then a lot of fill.
The doubly interesting part is the fill is foamed glass aggregate, a material that gets a bit of discussion here, but also seems to be hard to come by for residential projects.
