Perimeter drain with step footing

lookloan | Posted in General Questions on

Hi GBA
I am about to install a Schedule 40 perimeter drain around the footing and it seems simple if all on one level, but my footing has two steps down since this was installed on a slope.

So I tried to envision the layout and then I paused as the only way I can think to do this is with PVC Schedule 40 4 inch 90 deg elbows that will lead to a  drop a couple feet to another 90 degree and a straight run to another 90 degree elbow etc.
My fear is the 90 degree elbows will increase the chance of clogging when compared to a straight run.
Has anyone encountered this scenario and how did you solve it?  Thanks in advance.

    James,

The vertical legs of the steps should be solid pipe, and the 90 degree turns, just like the horizontal ones at the corners of the building, should be made up of two 45s or a sweep 90 to avoid clogs.
