The Panasonic WhisperComfort claims it can be used for the whole house.
The 40 cfm rating is plenty for two people in a 1200 sq.ft. house
Has anyone seen a report or have experience that it does the job adequately?
$300 at WalMart makes it pretty compelling

I should mention I was worried that there would be "short circuiting" with this design.
Has anyone seen a report on how to commission an ERV?
Kevin,
It all depends on the layout of the house and the expectations of the homeowners. I imagine that the Panasonic ERV will work better than an exhaust-only system -- and plenty of people are perfectly satisfied with an exhaust-only system.
Martin,
Since the WhisperComfort is only $200 more than a Panasonic exhaust fan, that's a very small risk.
Perfect if not overkill. I have a customer with one installed in a spray foamed open loft one bath home and all is good so far. Large crowds, they open windows and doors... birthday gatherings etc...
