I am considering using the Lunos type of ventilation fans which seem to require electricity all the time in order to work. Has anyone used these non-electric ventilation devices?
This is for an off grid cabin run on PV panels.

Aren't these make-up air intakes?
Scott,
These devices are basically a hole in the wall. You can achieve the same effect by cracking a window open.
A makeup air vent (a hole in the wall) is designed to allow outdoor air to enter a house that has been depressurized by an exhaust fan. They usually don't work as intended, because they are overwhelmed by the stack effect and wind.
