New Magic Boxes?

Just wondering if there are any new HRV/heat pump combos out there other than the minotair boreal and the CERV? A magic box would be perfect for my house but haven’t heard of any new ones in a long time.

Hi David. The quick answer to your question is no, there’s no « new » product in that category that I know of (in full disclosure, I do work in sales for Minotair). That being said, and since fall 2017, Minotair manufactures a more evolved version of its previous product, the Boreal 12000, with seriously improved cooling and dehumidification capacities. It’s also a quieter unit. This new unit is called the PentaCare V12. Please check it on minotair.com

Those are the only two of the kind that I am aware of. I met Alex this week and he showed us one of their units which seems like a highly functional appliance with lots of useful features. He’s very knowledgeable, so if you have questions, definitely reach out to him.
I also talked to a Passive House builder who is using the Minotaur units in his homes and he had positive things to say about them.
