More questions on sealing pier and beam insulated foundation
Hey all, as I keep working on this house on piers and beams, I’m wondering what people think about the need to create air/moisture barriers on the outskirts of the foundation.
I’ve got mineral wool R30 in the joist bays, and fastening 1″ polyiso and cracks/gaps foam/tape sealing all contact points between foam/foam and foam/wood.
I was also planning to do a small bead of that foam and/or maybe taping over between the sill plate and and siding to prevent moisture from going up in between that, which would also I think be the only entry point for air/moisture from seeping through rim joist contact points with the subfloor above and sill plate below into the interior of the whole thing?
So mostly wondering if spraying the inside of the rim joists as pictured with the red lines would be necessary with this installation? Or any other general reactions. Thank you!
