Miraflex Insulation

Lindaloowho | Posted in General Questions on

I have some old Miraflex Insulation on the attic floor with a pink permeable covering facing the roof deck, and an impermeable layer facing the attic floor.

Should I remove the impermeable layer closest to the attic floor before filling in gaps between joists and adding another layer of unfaced insulation? I will make sure I air seal well.

This is not a finished space, roof is vented, and I live in Southern Ontario.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Linda,

Have you called Owen Corning's technical support number? It's my understanding that Miraflex is a type of fiberglass insulation used in products such as Owen Corning PinkPlus.
