Mini split vanes constantly moving even on stationary setting

tjolson | Posted in Mechanicals on

Hello, we have MSZ-FH15NA on both floors of our (passive) home. To the best of my knowledge they are both set the same however the upstairs unit is constantly adjusting and the downstairs unit barely moves. In the last hour I have only seen the downstairs unit move once while the upstairs unit moves about every 5 minutes. The vanes are both set to stationary but I’ve read the units often go into a horizontal position to idle. True?

I’m especially aware of the upstairs unit’s movement because it pops when it moves the bottom vanes and it’s making me crazy. It’s loud enough to wake me.

Has anyone experienced this? I just purchased an mhk2 to try some experiments.
