Hi,
I am building a 12×16 workshop building on a very tight budget. It is 2×4 framed with 3/4 plywood sheathing. I plan to wrap with Tyvek then install board and batten siding with deck screws. I have been offered enough rough sawn poplar to do the job, at a very good price, but it is 1-1/4″ thick. Is that too thick (heavy) for the usual 2 screws in the middle of each board to hold it in place? Thanks for your help.

Ron, it's not too thick, but poplar is not a good choice for cladding--it has no rot resistance.
Thanks Michael
