Long term Cleanability of ventilation and air conditioning ducts
I am concerned about how ventilation and air cooling/heating ducts (if any) can be cleaned inside after some years of service. The ducts I see for HRV/ERV systems are relatively small diameter and many of them are ‘corrugated’ plastic. Since they are flexible they are rarely straight runs, rather they bend around various obstacles. Cooling/heating ducts may be larger but there is still a significant issue accessing the insides of them.
The concern is that over a period of some years, no matter how clean your intake air and system filters are, there will be a buildup of dust/dirt in these ducts.
Is there a way these ducts can be cleaned without tediously disassembling the system?
thanks,

If the plan is to ever clean the ducts spend the money for the steel ducts today.
I doubt micro thin plastic is going to stand up to a cleaning after a few years.
