Community and Q&A

Large quilted windowshades were installed in my house in the 80’s.

They were made by Window Showcase, Appropriate Technology Corp., of Brattleboro, VT. What firm now sells those shades and the parts accompanying them? The plastic rollers for the cord raising and lowering the blinds, and holding the blinds in place, are wearing out.

    Ben,
The current incarnation of the company that made your window quilts is:

    Window Quilt
    22 Browne Ct., Unit 105
    Battleboro, VT 05301
    800-257-4501
    http://www.windowquilt.com

I spoke to Paula at Window Quilt, and she says that parts are available for your 1980's window quilts. You need to figure out your model number, which is based on the size of the brackets. Visit the Web site for more information.

Many thanks to Martin Holladay and Louis for their assistance on window quilts. I thought my query had disappeared into the electronic grid.

We just moved into a house that has these window quilt treatments, now faded and some stains can they be professionally dyed to spruce them up verses replaced??

    Denise,
That sounds like a question for your local upholstery shop.
