Keeping polyiso dry during construction

| Posted in Green Building Techniques on

I know that polyiso absorbs water. How do people keep it dry during construction when it is used for exterior sheathing? I’m thinking about the time between when it gets installed and when it gets covered. Also, what about Zip-R? Since it’s structural sheathing, it needs to go on when the walls go up, which might be a while before the roof goes on.

Or does it need to be kept dry? Will it dry out once it’s covered?

Thanks.

I install rigid on the walls while building them on the ground. The WRB and strapping goes on at the same time, so the foam is protected from the elements from day one. This is using roofing polyiso which is fiber faced.
