Is there PolyFR in Closed cell spray foam?

erosin | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

I’m in the planning stage of re-insulating my home with spray foam, and then this story shows up on my feed:
https://www.upi.com/Science_News/2021/02/23/flame-retardant-polyfr-toxic/8341614096712/

Is this something to be concerned about? Are there SPF manufacturers who don’t use PolyFR?

All spray foam uses some type of chemical fire retardant. None are without toxicity concerns. And with spray foam, there are other toxicity concerns as well.

What was your motivation in choosing spray foam, and would you be interested in discussing ways to achieve that objective at lower cost, with lower toxicity and lower climate impact?
