Is terminating reverse laps to prevent fishmouthing still necessary?

It’s been 10 years since this article. Are the most popular tape products all self-terminating now?

A better question is what brand/line of tape are you using, and is it rated for use on the material it will be adhered to? For example, would I assume a certain acrylic tape is rated for use on housewrap unless specifically called out for that usage....?

Some of the popular flashing tape products use butyl and have been around a lot longer than 10 years, so the article would still apply.

I think most of the popular flashing products are all acrylic adhered now though, because they work better and for a larger variety of materials and application temperatures. People like things that work well.
