Is a rainscreen required under Everlast and similar sidings?

Everlast and similar sidings interlock and don’t have built in vents like vinyl siding. Is a rainscreen required behind them? Is a drainable house wrap like Benjamin Obdyke Hydrogap or Tyvek Drainwrap good enough?
J channels is directing water behind these sidings.

I have the same question for insulated vinyl siding. Are these really back vented?
Everlast must be installed over a flat surface according to their installation manual.
