Interesting design challenge: hot yoga studio building assembly
An interesting question came up today. I’ve encountered a project where there is to be a hot yoga studio (conditions are 106 degrees and 50% RH) built into an existing CMU structure. Climate is mixed dry– Central California.
The psychrometrics are interesting– dewpoint is ~84 degrees.
Curious as to opinions on interior insulation to deal with thermal and vapor drive. This is just a hypothetical that was an interesting building science design case outside of the normal conditions for this audience.

I would go with all foil faced polyiso with seams taped, including the inside corners (I'd insulate the ceiling too). Probably some high density EPS under a subfloor for the floor if that needs to be insulted too. Maybe some cedar board and batten as a finished interior, or other "Sauna-style" material and design.
As a funny alternative though: perhaps skip the insulation altogether. Don't even bother building the studio. Just become a roofer and work summers in a humid location ;-)

Great ideas Bill!
I like the roofer idea too!! Roofer yoga-- maybe even throw in a goat too!
