Insulation brands and types for under floor?
Hi all, I am putting a raised floor over a concrete slab which is at ground level. I have done moisture tests and didn’t have any moisture. As far as I can tell there is no vapor barrier under the slab (40+ years old, was a DIY type builder we have found…). I’m planning on putting down a vapor barrier, then insulation, then subfloor, then LVP which we have in the adjoining room.
I have looked at Rockwool batts, as well as FG batts and rolls by Knauf and Owens Corning. Is there any reason to choose one over the other? If I go with FG, is one brand better? Owens Corning looks to be more expensive per sqft for FG.
Was leaning toward Rockwool in case there ever is a moisture problem (but then I probably have bigger problems). More expensive, and less available at my local stores, but not too much more money for the size of the project.
Thanks for all the great info here!
