Insulating crawl space hatch doors
I live in climate zone 6a (coastal Maine). I am finishing up a project of installing foam board insulation in my crawlspace. One of my final tasks is insulating the two access hatch doors. One in approximately 2.5ft x 2ft (see image) and opens to the outside. The other is slightly smaller and opens to the inside. They both have fiberglass frames that are approximately 2in thick with one pane of glass. The manufacturer is Anderson.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice about how to insulate them. Buying new, insulated hatch doors (if those are even available) is not an option for my budget. I’m working with thermax polyiso, which I can leave exposed in the crawlspace. Should I just glue boards on the inside side of the doors?
Thanks!

I think your foam insulation would be more effective on the exterior in that the surface of the glass will be warmer so less moisture will condense in the glass.
I would cut the foam to a friction fit and paint it with a plan to replace it after a few years.

Ours is just the same foam board as the walls cut to fit tightly with metal handles added for easy removal. We have a wood door though and not a window.
