Inspector issues with reclaimed insulation?

NeilMac | Posted in Building Code Questions on

I am looking at using reclaimed Polyiso sheets for exterior insulation on my house. I am in BC, Canada. Just curious if anyone has run into any issues with local officials taking issue with reclaimed foam.

Best to ask the inspector. The BC Code allows for the use of used or reclaimed materials if they meet the requirements of the code for new materials. As long as the material is not too beat up, and you can achieve the required r value, I do not see a problem.

Make sure they still have the printing on them.

Just got word from my local inspector (Gibsons). No problem, as long as it's in good shape.
