Inside Corner Details with Exterior Insulation

rkymtnoffgrd | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

What have others done with detailing on inside corners with exterior insulation and 3/4″ rainscreen?  For outside corners, one can use wider furring strips to sufficiently overlap the studs.  But inside corners are different, do I have to add additional studs just to support the furring strips.  Planning studs with 24″ OC with fiber cement siding.  (See picture below)
Thank you

    Rkymtnoffgrd,

I you realign one of the studs to make it more like an outside corner, you would only need to add one 2"x4"

Thanks Malcolm, I will indeed incorporate that arrangement. The picture is great. Are there any code issues building such a three stud corner?

No. The only two that anyone cares about are those on the end of each wall. The rest are just backing.
