ideal weep hole placements in brick exterior wall
I see weep holes pretty common at the bottom of brick walled house here in TX. I can also vaguely remember with building science articles about the need for weep holes on the top of the brick wall aside from the bottom to have the moist air in the air gap behind the brick wall be able to vent in a loop from the bottom to the top (I hope I am explaining it clearly). I can’t seem to find more information and illustration on the ideal spots to put the weep holes on an all-brick home. Could someone please help? Thanks so much

There are a couple of brick veneer articles by BSC that discuss the need. This one states that both the top and bottom are necessary, but doesn’t discuss spacing or the location.

This JLC article is a little more clear on location, but the spacing may be a bit out of date. When I was researching it for my own wall I seem to remember 16” o.c., but can’t find anything official that states that.
