How to find a QUALIFIED HVAC Tech to work on Mitsubishi Ducted Mini??
So after you follow all the advice here, and get your system professionally designed, etc. how do you find a qualified tech to work on it?
The installing contractor the GC used does new construction installs only, no service, and I probably would not want that sub back anyway.
Two Mitsubishi Diamond service companies both gave assurances they would send techs specifically qualified to work on a ducted multi unit mini split system with a branch box. The techs from both companies stated, once they showed up, that they had never seen one before and had no idea what to do.
The people I’ve spoken to at Mitsubishi are either not the right people, or the only answer any of their people are allowed to give is to call a Mitsubishi Diamond certified company.
These may be wonderfully engineered systems, but there seems to be no way to get qualified service….what have others done?

Yep, that link is how I ID'd the two Mitsu Diamond HVAC subs who it turned out had never seen a DUCTED mini with branch box. Seems Mitsu Diamond is a useless designation...thus the question...
If you have any local companies that do HERS ratings, blower door tests, HVAC system design, things of that sort, get in touch and see if they have local recommendations. Many companies involved in energy efficient building trades usually have some go-to people for mini-split install/service.
One of the companies that had never seen a ducted mini was ID'd this way. I'll continue down that path with other contacts...
