Vetting a Solar Panel Installer
I am planning to install solar panels at my home and have received a quote from a solar panel installer. Unfortunately, nearly all the detail in the quote–type of equipment, the configuration, upgradeability, etc.–is completely beyond my expertise. (I am homeowner with no technical background in construction or electronics.)
How do I vet the quote? Are there services that can help with this?

EnergySage is a reputable resource that offers the exact service you are looking for: Choosing A Solar Installer.
When selecting a solar panel installer, it's important to consider factors such as their licensing, insurance, experience, customer reviews, and warranty offered. It's also advisable to get quotes from multiple installers and compare their services and prices before making a decision.
For exmaple, I have moved to Urgell, Spain and I have been informing myself with Damia solar: example https://www.damiasolar.com/

Once the solar cookies set into your computer an/or email, you'll be overwhelmed with calls, texts and emails. I found it quite difficult to vet them, per se. Checking reviews all over the internet is valuable, but recommendations from local neighbors, professionals and builders who have no vested interest in your project is probably the best way.
The industry is chock full of new companies, installers and salesman. When I was just about to settle on Tesla, I read they were withdrawing from installs.
Do your homework. It's a lot of money abd worth your while to get educated.
