Heat Pump Installers
I’m in Southeast Wisconsin, and I’m looking for an HVAC contractor willing and able to install heat pumps. The guy I’ve been using for years tried to talk me out of the idea with the explanation that heat pumps only work above 30º F. Clearly not up on the latest developments in this tech, so I’d rather not use him for this project.

I'd start by going to Mitsubishi and Fujitsu webpage and finding their "diamond" level registered contractors.
This is a decent suggestion, but do not fall the bs Mitsubishi marketing hype about "Diamond" and "Diamond Elite" contractors. Figure out some way to verify that whatever they are proposing to install has been previously installed and the customers are satisfied with the install and the ongoing operation and service.
Also, don't rely on the installing sub for a manual J. You need to figure it out yourself. Nobody cares are much about your system working properly as you do...
Thanks for the heads up. Another example of how few things in life are as straightforward as we'd like them to be.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm on it!
For the record I 100% agree with the poster above who said to vet the installers that you find on those websites. Good luck!
Any local installer that reads this forum is probably worth checking out lol...

No? Thank you for your time
Can we nominate this for comment of the month? LOL.
My standards are lower; I was just happy when I found one whose owner knows what a multi split branch box is....
This dude appears to be in the southeastern location. https://davedroegkamp.com/heat-pumps-and-mini-splits/ If you provide greater details on your location you might find more accurate answers but I also appreciate the privacy you may wish to have.
I'm familiar with the contractor, tho I haven't used them on any of my past projects. Thanks for the detective work, and thanks to everyone else up-thread for their feedback and humor.
