Garage doors
All else equal, do swinging garage doors generally provide a better air seal than overhead/rolling? Im assuming yes after reading Randy Williams 2023 article “Air Sealing Garage Doors” but want to confirm this is correct takeaway….? Thank you

I've found that with garage doors it's all about the execution of the installation. I've seen snow blow through some really expensive doors and some el cheapos that would hold back gale force winds.
Swinging doors 'can ' be more airtight, but doors that large rarely stay square
The real problem with garage doors is lack of attention to detail
'Oh they all do that'
No door frame, just a flap of rubber nailed to the trim.
Careful detailing can make a decent quality garage door seal, well, decently.
My current garage door is pretty old, and it's been acting up—making weird noises and sometimes refusing to open. Last winter, it even froze shut, which was a nightmare! I started looking around for better options and found some great advice here.By the way, I came across this site, https://portlanddoorsandlocksguy.com/, which has some good insights on different types of garage doors and maintenance tips. It's amazing how much a reliable door can change things, especially during those freezing months. What about you all? Anyone had any experience with upgrading their garage doors? What materials or brands did you go for? I’m leaning towards something insulated, maybe with some smart features, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. Any tips or personal stories would be super helpful!
