Hi, we finished building our house. It’s an apartment on a barn built to pretty good house standards. It’s 1100 ft.² in zone 4a (Nashville area).
We heat and cool with a single 9000 BTU gree heat pump. We have a Broan AI ERV. a standalone dehumidifier. And a passive make up your system for the range hood. All air entering the house is filtered.
The main room is about 14 foot ceilings. I’m wondering if I need to build two filter boxes and have one higher and one low. Or should I have several smaller ones spaced around the house?
We have noticed quite a bit of dust since we moved in here a few months ago. Don’t really notice it floating around, but it collects on surfaces so it’s there.
Since we don’t have an air conditioning return where I could put a good filter I’m looking at buying or making an air filtration system.
I have seen homemade Four merv13 20“ x 20“ air filters on four sides of a box with a fan blowing out and drawing the air through the filters and apparently it works much better than those lower end hanging shop filtration systems.
I am open to suggestions that are budget friendly.
Thanks for your advice!
-Mike
