Ductless ERV – Twinfresh? Anyone tried this?
Hello, my partner and I are looking to install a ductless? ERV to help with ventilation and our house is old and very small and does not lend itself to ducting. For various reasons, we are looking at a ductless ERV as a solution to helping with ventilation as well as our moisture problem (we also have a dehumidifier but don’t want an HRV to make things worse). We live where it gets pretty cold in the winter. (Maine). we also have budgetary concerns. we’ve also had to be careful during the pandemic so we’ve been putting this off for a while.
Has anyone here tried the Vents-US Twinfresh Comfo or Expert? what do you think?

There is a fairly active discussion over on Reddit on through the wall ERV's.

You could also install a Panasonic Whisper Comfort. The new FV-06VE1 has good specs, and can be ducted with a single through wall penetration: https://iaq.na.panasonic.com/ventilation/accessories/whispervent-wall-cap
The ventilators you shared look like the Lunos units I have used on several projects here in Maine. They work well; the only complaint I've heard (and observed) is that every 70 seconds the fan stops and reverses, which can be bothersome for those with sensitive hearing. I imagine the Vents US units work similarly but I didn't go through the specs.
I don't recommend using the single-penetration intake/exhaust unless you have no other option. There is a reason the building code requires 10' between intake and exhaust, and I don't trust fins pointed in different directions to be as effective.
I looked at the units, but they appear to be over priced for a new build instead I am focusing on a small RenewAire ERV - they are imported from Wisconsin to Minnesota - which is tolerable once you remove the Go Packers stickers.
@birchwoodbill: The Panasonic I linked is less expensive than any of the RenewAire. If it does what you need it is a solid solution.
