Drywall gasket fasteners

SINARIT | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

I’ve installed some conservation technology gaskets around the perimeter of the walls on my new house and my sheetrocker is struggling to keep the drywall screws from pulling through the paper in areas that the gaskets have been installed. I’ve also used mineral wool insulation batts, which seems to add to the problem. I tried manually setting the screws, but I have to back them off 1/2 turn after setting them or they will pop after a few minutes of being left unattended. Has anyone here experienced and solved this problem?

Did you use their BG32 gaskets, the ones intended for drywall? Is the house interior very cold? I have only used gaskets on a few projects but have not heard that complaint.

Yes, I used the BG32 drywall gasket. The house is about 50 degrees F. The interior walls seem to be okay. They drywall is now hung with many carefully adjusted screws. I'm not sure how this will perform long term.
