Drainage Plane Between XPS and Zip?

jowiwat | Posted in General Questions on

Long time lurker, first time question(er??)

I am trying to hammer out in insulation details of the wall section on my house. Currently, I have 2″x4″ framed walls with zip sheathing. I plan on wrapping the exterior with this product:

I have 2’x4′ boards of the 3″ thick blueboard that is faced with a 5/16″ latex concrete panel that will serve as my siding. I will be attaching the courses of the boards with T-Clear’s clip system.

My windows and doors are already sealed with flashing tape and will be innies. I plan on using composite materials to trim out.

Given that the T-Clear panels have the concrete exterior face firmly adhered to the XPS, do I need a drainage plane or WRB in between the zip sheathing and the XPS?

Also, I’d like to finish out the inside with batt insulation in the 2″x4″ wall cavity, and poplar shiplap paneling as the finished interior surface. Will I need to incorporate a fire retardant barrier inside?

Thanks in advance!
John
