DensArmor in bathroom
We installed Dens Armor in all the bathroom, walls and ceilings.
We are putting in full showers, already manufactured, no tile work on the walls. The master bath is an Onyx Shower. Cement board is going on the floors for the floor tile work.
Is the Dens Armor suitable for the walls surrounding the shower?

Bridget,
When you wrote that "The master bath is an Onyx Shower," do you mean that the walls and floors will be made of onyx (a type of stone) or that you are buying a brand name of shower base manufactured by a company named Onyx?
If you are putting in one-piece fiberglass shower units -- or fiberglass shower walls -- DensArmor panels can be used behind the fiberglass. If these walls are insulated exterior walls, just make sure that the DensArmor seams are airtight before you install the shower.

Martin,
The brand of shower is Onyx. Any recommendations? I also plan on calling the company today to make sure Dens Armor is okay. Their site doesn't offer much help.
Regarding the kitchen sink backsplash, should an underlayment be used against the dens armor, or does that also depend on the type of backsplash?
Thanks for all your input.
Bridget,
Q. "The brand of shower is Onyx. Any recommendations?"
A. Your question is unclear. In my first answer, I reassured you about the DensArmor. If you haven't installed the DensArmor yet, ordinary drywall will also work behind a fiberglass shower unit.

A. The answer depends on the type of backsplash. Do you have a contractor? These are the types of questions that your contractor should be able to answer.
