Crawl space

hermon | Posted in General Questions on

I wanted to insulate my crawl space, and a contractor suggested a humidifier with dedicated electrical hook up. I am not sure which one to choose or do both as I am not sure a humidifier is good enough to replace an insulation.

Thanks in advance. herman.

    Hermon/Herman,
I doubt if your contractor suggested that you install a humidifier in your crawl space. Your contractor probably suggested something else -- a dehumidifier.

The purpose of a dehumidifier is to lower the relative humidity (moisture level of the air) in the room where the dehumidifier is installed. Insulation has a different purpose. Insulation is installed to reduce heat flow through a floor, wall, or roof.

Where are you located? What problem are you trying to solve?
