Cold weather window flashing

tjones1014 | Posted in General Questions on

We’re scheduled to have our WRB and windows installed next week. Of course, we are now expecting a cold snap (lows around the low 20’s). We’re using Tyvek Commercial WRB and planned on using their flex wrap and straight flash tapes for flashing around our windows and any penetrations. I’ve read that Tyvek tapes need to be installed in temps above 25 degrees. Does anyone have any recs for window flashing tapes that will work well with Tyvek Commercial in cold weather?

I know zip tape can be installed at zero F. But if your lows are in the twenty's and the tyvek tape is 25 you'll probably be over that temp while your installing.

3m8067 can be installed down to 0F. I've installed it in freezing weather without issues, sticks to Tyvek well.

8067 is strech tape, I've used it for pans without issues. Having a small strip behind the corners on the outside will help.
