Interested in adding AC to the second floor of my 1950’s Cape home in Massachusetts and was initially considering a ducted system installed in my unconditioned vented attic. Since becoming aware of all of the pitfalls with this design, I have been exploring other options (I don’t wish to go the conditioned attic route using closed cell spray foam) and was wondering if installing ceiling mounted ductless mini-splits is a better choice?
