Cathedral ceiling vented roof assembly

talusscree | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

If I am planing to cover the ceiling of a cathedral framed room with t&G boards, would the 1″ foam on the bottom of the rafters that a lot of the details show in the library be a sufficient air barrier without drywall in a vented assembly?

Thanks,
Mike

If you plan is to build what is in this photo then the foil face of the foam board is your air barrier assuming you use the foil tape on the joints.
