Can I place radiant heat mechanicals between a detached garage and home, under a waterproof deck?

MikefromtheMountainsofUtah | Posted in Building Code Questions on

I have a 6×20′ (10ft tall) space below the deck that is squeezed between my house and detached garage, which will be dry. Can I put a mechanical room in it?  Accessed only from the garage?

I assume by "mechanical room" you mean an enclosed structure?

    What's your climate like?

    What's your equipment like?

My house has a deck that led to the front door. I'll attach a photo for a visual. We've added a garage and the deck will now span the space between the house and the garage. Below that deck could be the space , closed off and have a door to close it off.

As the new deck is placed between, I intend to have an epdm passageway for water that comes through the deck to flow toward the front of the house and out and would seal both sides down to the epdm. I think it's feasible to keep it dry. Next, I'll have the insulation guy spray foam to insulate the space. It has radiant so it will stay controlled.

      6A climate.

3 boilers - Haven't picked the units out yet and only the garage slab has pex at this point.

Why three boilers? If one works, could you put it elsewhere?

3,000 sq ft of driveway is getting heat. Unfortunately there isn't a great place inside... The original plan was to put it on the garage side of this wall, but clearances are too tight.
