Can I glue missed nails on exterior wall sheathing

Jabosbbq | Posted in General Questions on

We had a new addition added to our home, Exterior walls, sheathing, wrapping, and siding all put up without sheathing inspection. The inspector said a 2 ft section had missed nails for sheathing and we needed to fix to pass.
Here’s my question:  Can I glue the sheathing on the row of missed nails to the stud without taking off siding and to great expense?  Contractor has been fired after so many shortcuts. Was thinking of glueing the one stud that is missing about 4 nails vertically going down the stud.  And more importantly will it pass inspection?  thank you

    jabosbbq,

I don't know of any codes that allow substituting glue for the nailing schedules they list for sheathing. Your best chance is explaining the situation to your BI and seeing what they might accept in the circumstances.
