Building practices in windy areas

Wunderbar | Posted in Expert Exchange Q&A on

Curious of building practices during high wind gusts or windy areas

I finished framing out my second story and am working on getting the roof up before rain hits as we are still living on the first story. We do have some high gusts of wind that come through here and  I found myself wondering if its is a bad idea to install the roof first before the second story walls are fully sheathed. But then again, walls sheathed without the roof sheathing seem to be a sail too….

walls are 2×6 framing with Zip and polyiso exterior
roof is 2×6 T&G, polyiso, Zip then metal

Im doing everything by myself so time isn’t on my side
