Broan HRV B110H65RT

Sinaritt | Posted in General Questions on

I’m looking to replace my current Lifebreath RNC 95 HRV. It makes a 1040 hz noise (blade pass frequency on low) that travels throughout the house. Nothing like a clear tone resonating throughout an otherwise quiet house to make a person crazy. I managed to modify the fan housing enough to nearly eliminate the noise years ago, but it also limited the flow. After recently reading about resonators, I decided to try to tackle the noise without losing so much flow. After three days of trying, it’s now broken and I’m okay with that.

I’m looking at a Broan B110H65RT as a replacement and was wondering if anyone can confirm that this (or a similar unit) does not have a noticeable resonance. A little noise is okay, but a pure tonal noise is the concern… think running your finger around the rim of a glass. Any other feedback on these units would also be welcome.

I have a similar Broan B130E65RT unit (slightly higher CFM, ERV) installed in my wife's "room-of-all-trades", and the unit is very quiet: just a slight bit of fan noise when it first starts up until the fans settle down to operational speed. I'm running it near the bottom of the CFM range, though, so keep that in mind ...
