Brick veneer meets siding, Outside corner- HELP

BF2024 | Posted in General Questions on

Hi,

I’m residing my (old) home. I’m removing the outer 2 layers (vinyl and old siding) down to the sheathing, adding 2″ exterior foam, 1×4 rainscreen, and then LP. The house never had house wrap (or really any flashing, anywhere), so I’m using the foam board with all seams taped and sealed as my “wrap”. Three sides of the house have brick a third up the wall and sidingthe rest of the way up. The 4th, north wall has no brick, just siding. Now that I have all the siding off the back (I’m doing this one wall at a time) I’m realizing there was really never anything stopping water from rolling in between where the old siding met up with the brick (see attached pic).

Right now, I’m looking for any insight as how to best flash and protect these corners, so water can’t blow in between where the lower brick wall meets up with the siding-only wall. I will have 2″ foam on this back wall as well. The old siding just came out and overlapped the brick, and not by much, im trying to come up with a better option than that for what I do now. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
