Brick ties?

JL5KWSBYAT | Posted in General Questions on

Hello,

Wanting to use 3″ polyiso ridgid foam on the exterior walls (studs) that does NOT have a radiant barrier. However, I can’t find brick ties that will work with the poly w/o making holes in foam board!!

Is there a “special” tie that is needed, if so where might I find them?

Thanks

The radiant barrier is a plus on the exterior. It's the vapor barrier properties of the foil facing which can be problematic.

You'll probably have to attach strapping through the foam to the framing (is there any shear bracing?) and use conventional brick ties.
