Blueskin vp100 applied directly to EPS
I am building in 3Z ca coast. I only need 3/4”” Eps to stop condensation so I am using 3/4” to stay within Hardi Siding warranty requirements of 1” or less between the Hardi and Wood as I also want to use Henry Rain Screen which is 1/4”. This way no furring strips needed so way cheaper. Henry approved attaching the Vp100 directly to faced EPS. I don’t see anyone doing this so maybe it’s a bad idea but it seems like it would simplify the install to attach foam to plywood then Vp100. Does that create a vapor issue having faced EPS inside of VP 100? Also 3/4” wood bucks around all windows and doors. I can also just attach the vp100 to plywood and wrap around the window bucks and have the EPs on the exterior of WRB which I think is the norm. Thoughts?

What.is the reason for using the Blueskin in the assembly in this specific case. Is it for
Air barrier?
Vapour barrier?
You mentioned that you don’t see others doing this. Are you willing to clarify why you are interested in doing this?
I decided to go against the plywood. I live 300 feet from the coast in Ca and wind driven rain damage is a major issue so I guess my number 1 reason is the amazing water protection you get from it. Oh that is why I went with Blueskin. Against the Foam as it just seemed like an easier detail having the 3/4 foam butt directly to the 3/4 window bucks. Now I am going to have to wrap the blueskin around the 3/4” window bucks which is way slower.
300 feet from the coast would require a detail that is different from most builds. Take care!
